Job Title: K-5 Reading Specialist Department: Elementary School Start Date: August 13, 2026 Reports to: Elementary School Principal Salary Range: Based on salary scale as agreed upon between GCVS and AFT Massachusetts, AFLCIO GCVS Professional Staff. $57,443.30 to $93,722.31 Position Summary: The K-5 Reading Specialist is responsible for providing high-quality, specialized instruction to students eligible for Title One Reading support with diverse learning needs in the GCVS virtual environment. This role focuses on implementing evidence-based literacy instruction and interventions, administering progress monitoring and collecting student data. The teacher works collaboratively with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to support student growth, wellness, and academic achievement. Duties and Responsibilities: Deliver instruction and interventions based on the Science of Reading, structured literacy practices and the developmental progression of reading acquisition, including phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Conduct literacy assessments, such as DIBELS, analyze student data, and providing quarterly progress reports. -driven instruction to adjust teaching strategies based on individual student performance and assessments.
