Job Title:       9-12th Special Education Teacher

Job Summary:         If you have a passion for unique, individualized approaches to learning, working collaboratively with all teachers and educational service providers, and are an experienced, licensed Special Education teacher, Greater Commonwealth Virtual School (GCVS) is looking for you. We’re seeking educators who can apply their unique skill sets to our proven, virtual home-based model of education, including teaching core subjects while implementing IEP goals and behavior plans. Flexibility and the ability to embody reflective teaching practices on an on-going basis are essential.

Education and Experience:        

A bachelor's degree in education/special education or related field is required. Masters degree preferred.

Candidates must have a strong background with technology.

Minimal to light physical effort is generally required in performing duties in an office environment. This position requires the ability to operate a computer keyboard and standard office equipment at efficient speed and for lengthy periods of time. This position requires the ability to stand or sit for long periods of time. This employee must be able to see details on a computer. Use their hands to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls. Employee must be able to effectively communicate with numerous students at once by remote classroom participation including teaching, simultaneous computer work and hearing and seeing student and teacher responses. Employee must be able to interact with students and teachers in a myriad of situations including outings, video conferencing, face to face work and communication by technology.
